About ImageProcessingBasics.com

ImageProcessingBasics.com has a collection of informative and interactive Java applets explaining basic digital image processing concepts. Hopefully they will be suited for an educational setting, both at the high school and college / university level.

Each applet is accompanied by a short tutorial explaining the underlying theory it is trying to convey. Furthermore, comments are welcome, and are displayed at the bottom of the page for each topic.

These applets were originally developed for use as support material for an introductory course on digital image processing. The applets have been re-brushed and placed on this website under the agreement that the material will be available for free. More applets and tutorials might suddenly end up here. Whatch out!

However, feel free to use this site and its applets for educational or academic purposes. If you find this site helpful, especially if it is in a professional setting, we would love to hear about it!

To be able to use these interactive programs, you need to have Java installed. If you do not have it installed already, it is freely available at java.com for most operating systems, including Linux, Mac and Windows.
